I tried 7 sets of sheets before I kept these. Picky sleepers read on. I replaced high thread count sateen sheets that were amazingly luxurious feeling and HOT. Too hot. I thought that I had to have cotton, and that it was the standard. So I kept trying different cotton sheets. Cheap ones, expensive ones. High thread count. Low thread count. Multiple washings to try to "break them in." Wasn't impressed by any of them, but was getting sick of buying, washing, and disliking sheets. I'm sure I could have been less picky, but at that point I was invested. I tried target fieldcrest tencel blend -MEH- before I gave in and ordered these. These are super soft and I love laying down on them at night. I think the price point is a tad high for the durability, after a few washes they started showing minimal wash wear. I would have liked to see the initial crispness last longer, but I can say after having them almost a year that the wear hasn't progressed any further. I'd give them a 5/5 on soft/comfort, a 4/5 on quality/durability, and a 4/5 on breathability. Overall I'm very happy with them (I did keep them, after all which says volumes!) and have recommend them to friends and family. The pillowcases seem nice, I've slept on them a couple times when my silk ones were in the wash so I can't really comment on them.Update after 1 year:They are still soft as butter!! and the wash wear didn't progress at all. They still look excellent. We are upgrading from queen to king and these are what I'm buying for it! We did use the pillowcases a bit more, no complaints other than they are BIG for a regular sized pillow. My king pillows may fit in them.ok maybe i'm a disgusting animal and i don't really wash them that often but i do sleep on them every night and they're still like new and feel great.i looked this page up because my bed sheets ( different brand ) are shot and i wanted to see if i could get same brand, material and color bed sheets as these pillowcases ...apparently not but i will try to get the closest to these because these are great.only downside is they were actually cheaper when i got them 5 years ago - i guess that's inflation ?anyway i'm really impressed because the material feels very strong and very soft at the same time and breathes well too. i originally thought the price is too much for a pair of pillowcases but in retrospect i think i got my money's worth out of them and they're still going strong. These were gloriously soft and cool to sleep on in summer and cozy in winter. The best sheets I've ever slept on. After 2 years, the fitted sheet has begun to disintegrate, unfortunately, and is full of holes. I'm not sure how long sheets are supposed to last, but it seems like it should be more than 2 years. These were our favorites, so used and washed often. I would like to buy these again, but will probably do a little research first to see if that wear time is normal. For the price, I hoped they'd last longer.UPDATE - I read somewhere in the reviews that there is a warranty on these sheets, so I checked it out. Sure enough, there is a 5 year warranty. I just emailed a copy of my amazon receipt and a picture of the spot where the sheets are worn to Malouf, and they, in the most friendly and fast way possible, sent me a new set of sheets in the mail. They've won me as a lifelong customer, and I'm now off to search for a comforter that is made by Malouf as well. Highly recommend. After reading all of the reviews, I have to agree that these sheets are worth every penny. I deducted one star due to the fact that on the flat sheet the top part didn't line up when they sewed it. As in the decorative part that is sewn folded over for some reason is all twisted in the middle. I can't even iron it straight, it's simply made incorrectly.I also agree with past reviews that the sheets smelled musty like mildew but it came out with just one wash. The fitted sheet is very very deep. I have a 13" memory foam mattress and it has LOTS of extra slack.Pillow cases are enormous too. I have regular king pillows and it was at least 6" too long and about 4" too wide. So my pillows don't fill out the case nicely so it looks quite sloppy. Pillow case also wrinkles very easily. But all in all if you can live with the imperfections, it's very comfortable. I am attempting to make contact to see if I can't trade in the flat sheet for one that isn't a defect. We got a new bed and I wanted to really get something luxurious. My boyfriend wanted to get the Sheex sheets, but they are super-expensive and had mixed reviews. I did a lot of research between bamboo and these sheets and settled on the Tencel because of the anti-microbial properties as well as the fact that the process to actually make eucalyptus into linen is more eco-friendly and closed-system than the process to turn bamboo into fabric. When I received these sheets, I was very pleased with the softness and quality of them. I washed them per instruction (pH balanced detergent on gentle and low heat removed promptly from the dryer), placed them on the bed and was very happy in them the first few nights. However, like most red-blooded Americans, we actually do more in our bed than just sleep. I'll leave it to your active imagination (yes, I'm talking about eating in bed, Nanna), but when I went to wash the sheets a second time, there were stains that did not come out. I shrugged it off and assumed I just needed to gently pre-treat the stains with Dawn or something similar prior to washing. Did this the 3rd time around and the stains (new and old) either still have not come out. They may have lightened (along with fading the sheet itself), but there is still a visible mark on the sheets. Maybe this is due to the dark color (I bought the Dusk) or just a property of the fabric itself, but I am very disappointed. I basically have expensive sheets that look like they are now dirty all the time. WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN.
